• One package pre-sliced fresh mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup plain bread crumbs
  • 2 tsp fresh chopped basil
  • 1 Tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 Tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • Pizza sauce

Who doesn’t love fried cheese? This was much easier than I first imagined.  What made it even easier was the pre-sliced mozzarella I found in the grocery’s cheese section.  These were fresh slices of delicious mozzarella cheese.

The trick is to bread the cheese twice.  The breading is made by combining the plain bread crumbs (or Italian style if you wish), fresh basil, Italian seasoning, and grated Parmesan cheese.  In a bowl combine the eggs and start breading! Put a slice of mozzarella in the egg wash and then dip in the breading.  Then take that piece and put it in the egg again, and bread it once more.  Set aside until all are done and then we can start frying

Heat up the vegetable oil in a pan until it is ready for frying.  I usually just put it over medium-high heat and throw in a little piece of breading to test.  When it looks like it is frying and the oil is hot enough put the mozzarella in the hot oil and slowly deep fry it turning to brown the breading.  When both sides are browned remove and set on paper towel to drain.  Serve immediately with a side of pizza sauce
